Instagram Reels response to TikTok and YouTube Shorts. It allows you to watch and flick through short picture videos of up to 60 seconds in length.
This 60-second duration limit will soon be increased, as the social network has announced that Reels will be expanded from 60 to 90 seconds. According to Instagram, this boost will empower content creators to be their most genuine selves.
Creators will now have more time to tell more about themselves, record more behind-the-scenes footage, delve deeper into their genre of content, or do whatever else they want with it.
Content makers will soon be able to add their own soundtrack to their Reels with the upcoming release. This can be used to add commentary or background noise to any video in your camera roll that is at least 5 seconds long.
Instagram says:
Make sure that you like how your voice sounds in the recording because others might use it in their reels, too.
It will also let you to include polls for your audience to vote on what should happen in the following video, allowing the creators to provide their viewers exactly what they want.
