Sanaa: In Yemen, 18 children died due to overdue cancer injections.

According to the World News Agency, more than 40 children are admitted to the Kuwait Hospital in Yemen’s capital Sana’a for cancer treatment. The condition of more than half of the children who received the cancer injection worsened.

These children were kept in the intensive care ward where 18 children died during treatment. The injections given to the children were overdue. The photos of these dead children went viral by a Yemeni organization, on which users expressed outrage.

International medical and human rights organizations strongly protested the incident and demanded an investigation and strict legal action against the perpetrators. The hospital administration says that they are investigating the incident.

It is not yet clear which cancer medicine was being given to these children and what are the ages of these children. A Yemeni organization has claimed that the injections were provided to the hospital by the government.

It should be noted that the area where this incident took place is under the control of the Houthi rebels and the same rebels rule there. Since 2014, the country’s civil war has devastated the health system.

It should be noted that in 2019, the World Health Organization claimed that more than 1,000 children in Yemen are suffering from cancer, which is increasing to 1,100 annually.
