
Faster lifestyle, consumption of unbalanced diet and lack of healthy activities are leading to increase in diabetes and high blood pressure diseases among the youth.
In an awareness seminar on diabetes, obesity and high blood pressure in Lahore, experts discussed the reasons for the increase in diseases among children.
Additional Secretary Health Punjab Asim Raza said that diabetes, high blood pressure, asthma are increasing in non-communicable diseases, people know less, lives can be improved through awareness.
The speakers said that the spread of non-communicable diseases can be prevented by improving the daily routines and changing the food habits of the youth.
According to VC University of Lahore, Dr. Zahid Parvez, those who sit on the computer, eat fast food, do not exercise, avoid such foods that spread these diseases.
Students also stressed the importance of change in engagement and physical activity for a healthy life, saying that we were informed that physical activity had completely disappeared. Our bread is not good, we wake up late, stay up late at night.
Participants agreed that parents should prevent children from eating fried foods and also discourage the culture of home delivery.
