West Indian cricketer out of World Cup after missing flight

West Indies batsman Shimron Hitmire missed the rescheduled flight to Australia for the T20 World Cup after which he was ruled out of the World Cup.

According to Cricket West Indies, Shamar Brooks has been included in the squad in place of Shimron Hitmire and the International Cricket Council (ICC) has also been informed about this decision.

The October 1 flight was rescheduled at the request of Shimron Hitmire due to family reasons and it was a challenge to get the flight, Cricket West Indies said in a statement.

According to foreign media, 34-year-old Shamala Brooks has been included in the squad instead of Shimron Hetmire.

It should be noted that other players in the squad of the West Indies cricket team have left for Australia for the T20 World Cup.
