India is prepared to roll out 5G internet in certain areas of the nation as the auction and other preparations are complete. India will debut 5G in the country as one of the first nations, behind China and Korea. This will help other nations in the region, such Pakistan and Bangladesh, who can then follow in India’s footsteps.
The date will be October 12 this year, the IT minister said in an interview. This is anticipated to be the last call, despite the fact that the date has been postponed previously. He stated:
“We intend to quickly put out 5G services. In that regard, installations are being completed and work is being done by the telecom operators.
India’s Prime Minister has also mentioned the importance of 5G and other incoming innovations of tech in India. In their independence day speech he said;
“India’s techade is here! With 5G, semiconductor manufacturing & Optical Fibre Cable (OFCs) in villages, we are bringing a revolution through Digital India to the grassroots level,”
Just like the 4G services that were rolled out in a phased manner, the 5G services will also happen gradually with certain cities getting it first. The service will be rolled out in these 13 cities first-
- Ahmedabad
- Bengaluru
- Chandigarh
- Chennai
- Delhi
- Gandhinagar
- Gurugram
- Hyderabad
- Jamnagar
- Kolkata
- Lucknow
- Mumbai
These cities will not necessarily have 5G internet all over, but certain parts of the cities will be tested with the network, and then the rest of the area followed by the whole country.
With the new modifications, Airtel will be setting the pace while Jio will eventually follow. Airtel and Jio were the telecoms anticipated to introduce the fifth generation network. Everyone in the nation is anticipating the faster speeds and reduced latency of the future thanks to 5G, which has countless applications across all industries. The commercialization of 5G can advance not only IT but also agriculture, medicine, and other industries.
