This past weekend saw the official start of the Asia Cup 2022, and we had our key Pakistan vs. India matchup. The much awaited rivalry game lived up to the hype as both teams launched their offences. Fans from both countries filled the Dubai International Stadium in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Sadly, Pakistan lost the game in the very last over, but it was an absolute thriller. The game had several really memorable moments, from debutant Naseem Shah’s scorching spell to Shahnawaz Dahani’s spectacular sixes.
Away from the action, netizens on the internet played their part online, coming up with some hilarious memes on social media to provide their unique commentary to the game. For starters, fans had high hopes for Babar Azam but Pakistan’s prolific batsman fell early.

There were also some nice moments on the field, one with Mohammad Rizwan and Hardik Pandya. The two proved that despite the rivalry, Indian and Pakistani players are friends.

Finally, the young debutant Naseem Shah won over the hearts of fans everywhere. The 19-year-old set hearts racing with the first over wicket of KL Rahul. However, the youngster suffered cramps midway during his second spell. Despite the pain and agony, Naseem Shah bowled out his overs and proved to be a fighter and future star of Pakistan.
