In a major blow to Pakistan, key fast bowler Naseem Shah has been ruled out of the first match in the city due to a high fever following a chest infection, the Pakistan Cricket Board said on Wednesday.
According to media reports, the PCB spokesperson said that the 19-year-old was taken to the hospital late on Tuesday due to fever but is now feeling better.
During his stay at the hospital, he underwent various tests, including a dengue test, to diagnose the problem.
A PCB spokesperson said that Shah’s participation in other matches will depend on the results of his medical reports.
