Islamabad: According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, 236 Pakistanis, including women, are imprisoned in Chinese prisons.
According to Express News, during the question interval in the Senate session, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs presented the details regarding the Pakistani prisoners in China.
In a written reply from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it has been stated that there are 236 Pakistanis in Chinese jails, including women. Under the Pakistan-China Agreement 2020, 21 prisoners were requested to be released. 81 Pakistani prisoners have been released after completing their sentences in China for 3 years.
The written reply states that the Pakistani mission is in touch with the Chinese authorities for the earliest possible extradition of the Pakistani prisoners.
