Umm Rabab Case; The bail of Ali Gohar Chandio, the accused in Tehre murder, was rejected

Karachi: The Sindh High Court has rejected the bail application of the accused Ali Gohar Chandio in the Meher Dadu murder case and the application against Gohar Chandio’s bail.

In front of a single bench consisting of Justice Salahuddin Paiwar, a hearing was held on the bail application of Sindh Assembly member Burhan Chandio, Sardar Chandio and others in Tehre murder case in Mahir Dadu.

The counsel for the accused submitted a report on the CDR. Burhan Chandev’s lawyer stated that Burhan Chandev was participating in the meeting on the day of the incident. The police have recorded the statements of the people participating in the rally.

Plaintiff’s lawyer Salahuddin Paiwar took the stand that the accused has misused the bail several times. I have also been assaulted and the trial court has also been informed. At every hearing in Dadu, thousands of people throng the trial court in Dadu on his behalf. I am also receiving serious threats.

The lawyer of the accused stated that the plaintiff and the lawyer have got the security of the Rangers. “I have many other high-profile cases,” the plaintiff’s counsel said.

Justice Salahuddin Paiwar said in a dialogue with the plaintiff’s lawyer that this is a serious case regarding tribalism. Justice Salahuddin Paiwar remarked that the accused, however powerful they are, are before the court today. The plaintiff’s lawyer stated that we have been facing difficulties for 5 years. Those who were judges before him were his voter supporters.

Justice Salahuddin Paiwar remarked that the case has been in the same place for 5 years. The court rejected the bail application of the accused Ali Gohar Chandio and approved the interim bail of Member of Sindh Assembly Burhan Chandio, while also rejected the application against granting bail of Sardar Chandio.

The court ordered to withdraw the petition filed by Sardar Chandio in the High Court against conducting the trial and remarked that the accused Sardar Chandio has obtained an injunction from the High Court and he will withdraw the petition related to the injunction.

The court ordered the trial court to charge the accused within 15 days and record important evidence within 3 months and remarked that the trial court should not delay the proceedings of the case.
