Top Indian Cricketer Alleges IPL Teams Would Have Paid 15 Crore to Sign Shaheen

According to Ashwin, one of the most desired players in India’s top T20 competition would have been a tall left-arm fast bowler with a flair for grabbing wickets in the opening session and bowling brutal yorkers at the end of the innings. He continued by saying that if Shaheen had been eligible for selection in the competition, he would have won a very valuable deal.

The 35-year-old continued by complimenting Pakistan’s quick bowling lineup. No other nation in the world, according to him, is able to generate as many pacers who consistently bowl at 145 kph or more. He claimed that Pakistan’s fast bowling potential is fascinating and endowed with natural talent.

All Pakistani fast bowlers clock 140-145 kph consistently. I don’t think any team in world cricket has such a rich backup of fast bowlers. Pakistan have always been a side with so much raw talent on display.

Ashwin, who himself is part of India’s squad for the ongoing Asia Cup, has not featured in the tournament so far with India preferring leg-spinner, Yuzvendra Chahal, in their first two games.

As for Shaheen, he is not available for Pakistan in the ongoing tournament after suffering from a knee injury during Pakistan’s Test series against Sri Lanka. The 22-year-old is currently in England as he is undergoing rehabilitation in order to recover in time for the upcoming 2022 T20 World Cup.
