The recent monsoon rains with thunderstorms in the city have caused many previous records to be broken, while in various districts of rural Sindh, the unusual heavy and heavy rains with hot flashes have defied all the limits of earlier predictions and estimates.
Even at this time, various districts of rural Sindh are under water due to heavy rains and flood situation.
In this situation, the Department of Meteorology says that during the winter of this year, the intensity of cold is expected to increase throughout Sindh including Karachi, and there is a possibility that the morning and evening temperatures will be lower compared to last year.
It should be noted that winter begins in Karachi from the middle of November, during which the weather is initially cool and somewhat cold, after which the intensity of the cold gradually increases. continues.
The cold weather in Karachi continues till the first week of February, after which the temperature starts to rise, but in the districts of rural Sindh, the cold weather continues till the end of February.
According to Chief Meteorologist Karachi Sardar Sarfaraz, winter in Sindh usually begins in mid-November, however, this time the type of rains that fall during the monsoon, and to a large extent the temperature of the land, due to the heavy rains, the temperature is moderate. has changed.
According to his theory, it can be said that this year’s winter will be colder than usual compared to the previous years. The full situation will be more clear in the first week of November, during which a conclusion can be drawn by comparing the October temperature with the early November temperature.
He says that in the last few days’ meeting of the South Asian Climate Outlook Forum, it has been indicated that due to the flood situation in Sindh, it will be colder.
According to the Department of Meteorology, apart from heavy monsoon rains and floods, the western winds entering the country in winter and the resulting rain will also cause the temperature to drop, especially in the northwestern districts of Balochistan after snowfall. Winds can also cross the city, commonly known as Quetta Cold Winds or Siberian Winds.
