Islamabad: It has been announced that Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif will be given the vice presidency of the World Organization for Climate Change and its Consequences (COP 27).
According to the statement issued by the PM House (Press Wing), Pakistan has received this honor among the 195 countries of the United Nations. COP-27 is chaired by Egypt. The vice-chairmanship during the session by the Conference of Parties (COP-27) is a great international honor for Pakistan.
In this regard, the President of Egypt, Abdul Fattah Al-Sisi, has also invited Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to co-chair the meeting of COP-27. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Prime Minister of Norway and President of Egypt will jointly chair the round table conference. The Conference of Parties will meet in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt from November 6 to 18.
The COP 27 meeting will be attended by world leaders, heads of governments, heads of international financial institutions and think tanks. This will be the 27th session organized by the United Nations on climate change issues and their solutions. The post of vice president was given to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s influential voice regarding environmental changes.
Other countries supported Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif’s proposal to raise the issue of climate change at the level of the SCO organization in the meeting of the Council of Heads of State and Government of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization on September 15-16 in Samarkand. was
