Home Minister Rana Sanaullah has said that farmers’ sit-in is unjustified and the law will be initiated against those protesting in the red zone.
Talking to the media, Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah said that the sit-in of farmers is unjustified and informed them about the situation in a meeting with Kisan Ittihad today. A cabinet committee is working to reduce electricity bills of agricultural tube wells.
He said that the committee will sit again on Monday and consider all the proposals, adding that the government is taking the legitimate demands of farmers seriously.
Rana Sanaullah said that the demand for delay in payment of bills of tube wells has been accepted and the notification has also been issued, therefore the protest and sit-in are unjustified.
He said that farmers or any group or party are not allowed to protest or sit in the red zone and the law will be initiated against those marching towards the red zone. There are also clear orders of the Supreme Court that no protest can be held in the red zone.
