The federal government has apologized for supplying wheat to the Punjab government, due to which the wheat and flour market in Punjab has become a crisis situation.
According to the media report, the federal government has apologized for supplying wheat from the reserves of Paskoke to Punjab, due to which the wheat and flour market in Punjab has fallen into a crisis situation and the prices are likely to increase further.
The Punjab government termed this decision as anti-Punjab on behalf of the federal government and said that the sudden refusal to provide wheat at the beginning of October after continuous assurances of wheat supply to us is a conspiracy to create a wheat flour crisis in Punjab.
According to the media report, in the letter sent to the Punjab government, it has been said that PASCO has to supply wheat to the federal institutions including Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, Gilgit, due to which the local wheat is not available to supply to the food department of Punjab. The government can import wheat directly itself or through Trading Corporation of Pakistan (TCP) if it wants.
After the sudden apology of the federal government, a disturbing situation has arisen in the Punjab government. Yesterday, the Food Department of Punjab held several emergency meetings and contacts to deal with the new situation and ensure timely import.
