
Due to the damage caused by floods brought on by prolonged monsoon rains, the district administration of Swat has declared all educational institutions to be closed until the next month.
The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Swat has officially announced that all public and private schools and colleges would be closed through September 5th. On September 6, the educational institutions will reopen.
Due to extensive flooding-related damage to public life and property, Swat’s government last week temporarily closed all public and private schools as well as colleges.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) has reported 242 fatalities and 307 injuries so far this monsoon season. Out of the overall number of fatalities, 105 women, 101 men, and 36 children.
118 males, 115 females, and 74 children have been injured in the province as well.
In a similar development from earlier today, the Balochistan government has announced to keep educational institutes in the province closed till 2 September. Schools and colleges will reopen on 3 September.
Balochistan’s monsoon rainfall has smashed a record that had stood for six decades. Balochistan has already experienced 284mm of rain this monsoon season, which is 469% more than the 50mm usual for this time of year. As a result, since June 14 throughout the province, 242 people have died and 108 have been injured.
