Lahore: Government barred Pakistan Hockey Federation from participating in Sultan Azlan Shah Cup hockey tournament, Pakistan Sports Board refused to give NOC to PHF for Sultan Azlan Shah Cup.
According to Express News, Pakistan Hockey Federation had approached PSB for NOC for Sultan Azlan Shah Cup. In a letter written to Secretary PHFD Notify Haider Hussain, the Pakistan Sports Board made it clear that no participation in any event should be made until the decision of the committee formed regarding hockey.
NOC will not be given to any person or team related to hockey till the decision of the committee. The government has set up a three-member committee headed by Defense Minister Khawaja Asif for hockey matters. The Pakistani team’s camp for the Azlan Shah Hockey Tournament is going on at the Abdul Sattar Edhi Stadium in Karachi these days.
