After the loss to India, the South African cricket team failed to qualify directly for the ODI World Cup.
According to foreign media reports, in the World Cup 2023 scheduled in India, the South African team will have to play the qualifier round to participate in the World Cup.
The top 8 teams of the World Cup scheduled in India will qualify directly, including the teams of India, Australia, England, Bangladesh, Pakistan, New Zealand, Afghanistan and West Indies.
Sri Lanka and South Africa will have to play the qualifying round in the two oldest Test playing nations of the ICC, while the teams of Ireland, Zimbabwe and the Netherlands are also included.
On the other hand, South Africa has refused to play the ODI series against Australia next year, after which their chances of directly qualifying for the World Cup 2023 have almost disappeared.
It should be noted that if the South African team proves to be a flop in the qualifier round, they may be out of the World Cup 2023.
