Sindh government distributed ration to more than 15 lakh flood victims, Sharjeel Memon

Provincial Information Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon has said that the relief activities of the Sindh government are continuing, in the last 24 hours, ration bags have been distributed to more 26,500 families.

In his statement released to the media, Sharjeel Memon said that ration bags were distributed to 1000 families in Qamber, Shahdadkot, while 2000 were distributed in Dadu, 7000 in Hyderabad, 500 in Matiari, 1000 in Sajawal, 1000 in Thatta, 1000 in Jacobabad, 5000 in Larkana, 800 in Shikarpur, and 800 in Sukkur. 3500, Sanghar 2200 and Mirpur Khas 1500 families were provided with ration bags.

According to the provincial information minister, ration bags have been distributed to 1528134 families so far. According to reports in the last 24 hours, more than 1500 tents and other relief materials have been distributed among the victims. So far, 603719 tents, 535317 plastic tarpaulins, 3140186 mosquito nets, 800733 liters of mineral water, 118123 pots of cooked food and other items have been provided to the victims.

The provincial minister said that in the last 24 hours, 8,628 more victims have returned to their homes from the relief camps. Currently, there are 265,039 victims in the relief camps, including 76,721 children and 59,915 women.

He said that two meals a day and health facilities are being provided to the victims in the relief camp. Sharjeel Inam Memon said that 779 precious lives have been lost, 8422 people have been injured due to the recent rains.

He said that the inflow of water at Guddu Barrage is 59300 cusecs and the outflow is 49900 cusecs. Sukkur Barrage has an inflow of 47,500 cusecs and an outflow of 37,000 cusecs, while Kotri Barrage has an inflow of 86,200 cusecs and an outflow of 57,500 cusecs.
