Pakistani mountaineer Sajid Ali Sadpara created history on Monday when he became the first Pakistani alpinist to reach the actual summit of Nepal’s Mount Manaslu, the eighth highest peak in the world.
Sidpara’s team confirmed that they reached the summit of Manaslu before a huge avalanche got stuck near C4 in the afternoon.
The ‘real peak’ of Manaslu came into the limelight last year when renowned Nepalese mountaineer Mangamaji claimed that all the previous summits of the peak were not real summits and that the actual summit of the mountain was still far away.
Following Mangama’s revelation, several climbers aiming to achieve different records announced their attempt to summit Manaslu, including Pakistan’s Sarbaz Ali and Shahroz Kashif.
Sajid, son of the late mountaineer Ali Sadpara, was among the climbers aiming to complete the actual summit this season.
His team confirmed that Sajid successfully summited the 8163m Mount Manaslu on Monday afternoon without supplemental oxygen.
