Rana Sana Arrest Case; Islamabad Police’s indication of legal action against anti-corruption

Islamabad: Islamabad Police and Anti-Corruption Establishment Punjab came face to face over the issue of arrest of Federal Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah on court order.

According to Express News, the anti-corruption team reached the Secretariat Police Station Islamabad to arrest the Federal Interior Minister after the court again issued an arrest warrant for the arrest of Rana Sanaullah. According to anti-corruption officials, the Islamabad Police refused any cooperation for the arrest of Rana Sanaullah. After which the team of anti-corruption department left the police station.

The anti-corruption officials alleged that we were misbehaved while the police did not even register the arrival and departure of the anti-corruption team. Our vehicles were taken out of the police station. The court will be informed tomorrow about the action that took place in the police station.

Contrary to the situation, the Islamabad Police says that the arrest warrant was regularly received in the police station, while the Anti-Corruption Establishment Punjab refused to give the record. Regular registration of traffic was also done in the police station. In this regard, the Anti-Corruption Establishment Punjab was directed to take the legal route as per the prevailing procedure.

According to the Islamabad Police, no clear stand has been adopted by the Anti-Corruption Establishment Punjab. The Islamabad Capital Police is present at all times to comply with the orders of all the courts. Actions will be taken according to all legal regulations.

The officers of Anti-Corruption Establishment Punjab are requested to resolve legal matters in a legal manner and avoid unnecessary statements and misrepresentations. Such statements create obstacles in the way of mutual cooperation in administrative matters between institutions. Islamabad Capital Police reserves the right to take legal action against such misrepresentation.
