Qatar eyes cooperation in IT, cybersecurity
Islamabad: Pakistan and Qatar have pledged to deepen their cooperation in information technology (IT), startups and cyber security, as IT and Telecommunication Minister Shaza Fatima Khawaja and Qatari Ambassador to Pakistan Ali Mubarak Ali Isa said. Khawaja pointed out the strong ties between the two countries and highlighted the potential for mutual development in IT and telecommunications. He called for the signing of Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) between the institutions and encouraging joint ventures by IT companies in both countries.
He further suggested exchange of students and start-ups to strengthen bilateral ties and urged Qatar to facilitate Pakistani IT firms in obtaining visas and access to Qatari markets.
In response, Al Khattar assured Pakistan of Qatar’s full support in IT and telecommunications, paving the way for increased cooperation.
