The Punjab Curriculum and Textbook Board (PCTB) has allotted 100 marks for the Matriculation and Intermediate levels’ required Quranic Translation course.
Details indicate that the Quranic Translation subject will be covered in both the Matric and Inter portions, with each paper carrying 50 points in each. Non-Muslims will be able to take Ethics as a Matric and Inter subject.
The Punjab Government had earlier this month ordered all of the province’s Boards of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISEs) to add a required Quranic Translation topic to the Matric and Inter curricula.
The duty of creating the numbering scheme for the Quranic Translation subject was given to the PCTB. After nearly a month of discussion with key stakeholders, PCTB has finally decided on the subject’s numbers.
In a separate development, all Punjab’s BISEs have finalized the dates for the announcement of the results of the annual examination of Matric and Inter.
The final result of class 10 will be declared on 31 August and class 9 on 19 September while class 12 results will be declared on 20 October and class 11 on 17 November.
