Twitter has a new Spaces tab. The Podcasts feature is also available for Twitter Blue subscribers. iOS users can test new interface elements via Twitter Blue’s Early Access Labs feature. This tab combines a recorded space with a live space, and also offers a number of famous podcasts that can be accessed directly from the app. Apart from Twitter’s podcasts, there are the well-known Twitter Spaces.
It also offers a voice experience through the app. Developer Jane Manchun Wong discovered a reference to tabs in Twitter’s code in March, prompting Twitter to start developing a podcast feature. A few months later, the company began testing interface changes on Android and iOS with a small number of English-speaking users. The current tab design includes different categories for existing and potential spaces, as well as a stations section that organizes podcasts and spaces by common themes.
Meanwhile, Twitter Blue has released an update available to all users of the service. Twitter Podcasts are coming to the platform, improving access to audio content for all users. The space function is on those same buttons. Users can access pre-recorded Spaces material of his, live audio rooms, podcast episodes by various creators, themed audio stations, and more.
In addition to Twitter Blue subscriptions, the service will now be accessible only to iOS users and is currently in the early stages of integration. Android and web users will have to wait until future launches to access podcasts.
