Players are free to choose IPL and Pakistan tour, KV CEO

Christ Church: The chief executive of the New Zealand Cricket Board says Kiwi cricketers will be allowed to choose the national side to play in the IPL or tour Pakistan.

Kiwi Board COC David White said that in the first phase, which will continue from December 27 to January 15, both teams will compete in two Tests and three One Day International matches, in which our team will tour Pakistan with full strength. However, the second phase is scheduled in April and May, so players can also opt for IPL.

While talking to the media, he said that our team will visit Pakistan with full strength, however, the players of the Players Association have not been discussed in this regard, but the players will be completely free to choose for the tour of Pakistan and the IPL.

On the other hand, regarding the security of the players, he said that the Kiwi delegation had visited Pakistan at the beginning of the year, on which we are in touch with the embassy and our government.

It may be recalled that the Black Caps had canceled their tour of Pakistan a few hours before the first ODI in Rawalpindi last year due to security concerns.
