Washington: America has said that there is an elected democratic government in Pakistan.
US State Department spokesperson Ned Price said in a media briefing that Pakistan has an elected democratic government. America values the long-standing relationship with Pakistan.
The spokesperson further said that Pakistan and America have common interests on many issues. Cooperation with Pakistan continues in various fields including security and economy.
The spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that there is a system for monitoring the money given to help the flood victims. US and USAID representatives visit the affected areas and submit reports. 10 districts of Sindh and Balochistan have been visited.
He said that the future and stability of Afghanistan and the challenges of the region and the security situation are being discussed with Pakistan.
Ned Price said that Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman had a meeting with the Army Chief of Pakistan. Meetings are held with high officials of Pakistan.
