With the official introduction of Changan Lumin Corn EV, China’s ultra-mini electric vehicle (EV) industry has gained another powerful competitor. The tiny electric vehicle first appeared on our screens in April 2022, generating a lot of interest from both potential purchasers and enthusiasts.

In China, the Changan Lumin Corn EV was launched for Rs. 1.5 million

Lumin Corn is a battery-electric city car that Changan and CATL have developed jointly. Launched under Changan’s Avatr Technology Marque, the tiny EV competes with Wuling Honguang Mini EV, Chery QQ Ice Cream, and other similar cars.

In China, the Changan Lumin Corn EV was launched for Rs. 1.5 million

The base model comes with a 12.92 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery with a range of 155 kilometres. The mid-range model has a 17.65 kWh LFP battery and a range of 210 kilometres, while the top-end model has a 27.99 kWh LFP battery and a 301-kilometer range. All variants make 41 horsepower (hp) and have a top speed of 101 km/h.

Features Changan Lumin Corn EV

Lumin Corn has a number of unique and beneficial properties. It boasts a floating 10.25-inch touch screen with navigation, phone, audio, radio, and self-driving capabilities. Hazard lights, an engine start/stop button, climate control, a USB port, and a 12-volt outlet are all included.

Unlike Wuling Mini EV, Lumin Corn’s exterior profile is rounded and smooth. It has circular headlights and taillights, and smooth bumpers, which allows for a subdued, yet appealing look.

Although not the most high-tech car, Lumin Corn offers all the basic features of a small economy car.

Price Changan Lumin Corn EV

The base model is priced at 48,900 RMB (Rs. 1.48 Million). The mid-range model costs RMB 53,900 (about Rs. 1.63 million), while the top-of-the-line model costs RMB 69,800. (Rs. 2.12 million).

In terms of price and functionality, the Lumin Corn is a cut above the Wuling small EV. It was just released in China, where compact electric vehicles are in hot demand. It will first be available solely in China’s fast increasing EV market before being made available worldwide.
