Devastating monsoon floods have caused an increase in casualties to 2,600 in Pakistan.

According to official data from the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), the mortality toll from this year’s monsoon rains that caused floods across the nation has surpassed the sobering milestone of 1,000.

28 persons lost their life in the previous 24 hours, according to the NDMA’s Daily Monsoon Situation Report for August 28, 14 of whom were men, 11 of whom were children, and three of whom were women. In the same time frame, 48 persons were hurt, including 22 men, 13 women, and 13 children.

There have been 2,636 total casualties reported between 14 June and 28 August, of which 1,061 have been fatalities and 1,575 have been injuries. With 349 fatalities and 1,030 injuries, Sindh continues to be the most badly hit province.

Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) follow Sindh with 242 deaths each and 108 and 307 injuries respectively.
