Customs declaration is mandatory for carrying more than 5 thousand dollars abroad

Islamabad: The federal government has made customs declaration compulsory for the passengers going to foreign countries from Pakistan and those coming to Pakistan for keeping currency up to five thousand and ten thousand dollars and other prohibited items.

Passengers going to Afghanistan will be allowed to carry only $1,000 with them and for this they will have to submit a declaration form. .

According to the notification, a declaration has to be submitted if the amount is more than five thousand dollars, for which the FBR has issued a notification, amendments have been made in the baggage rules through this amendment notification.

According to a copy of the notification available to Express, the Federal Board of Revenue has implemented amended baggage rules, however, passengers going to Afghanistan will be allowed to carry only $1,000 and a declaration form will be submitted for carrying more than $1,000. Must be done.

According to the rules, the passengers going to all other countries have to declare according to the format, but for all countries except Afghanistan, children up to five years of age will have to pay 1000 dollars, people between 5 to 18 years of age will have to pay 5000 dollars and People above the age of eighteen will be allowed to carry ten thousand dollars with them.

According to the notification, all passengers carrying more than five thousand dollars must submit a declaration form. People up to the age of 18 do not have to submit a declaration form to carry $5,000.

According to FBR, legal action will be taken against the passengers who withdraw more than the prescribed limit.

According to the notification, FBR has also introduced the customs declaration form for passengers coming to Pakistan and departing from Pakistan in the amended rules.

Customs declaration can be submitted electronically before departure abroad or manually at the airport upon departure.

According to the notification, the passengers coming to Pakistan will have to submit the customs declaration of currency worth more than ten thousand dollars or other prohibited goods. This customs declaration can also be submitted electronically or at the time of landing at the airport Later it has to be submitted manually.

Passengers will also have to declare the jewellery, gold and other valuables they are bringing with them.

Customs officials say that in addition to the above-mentioned amended baggage rules, customs regulations will also be applied to passengers going to foreign countries and coming to Pakistan to bring and carry foreign currency with them.
