
ISLAMABAD: Reacting to the acquittal of PML-N leader Maryam Nawaz in the Avenfield corruption case by the Islamabad High Court (IHC), PTI Secretary General Asad Umar on Thursday said that “imported “Cases against the government” are being dismissed on a daily basis.
The PTI leader took to Twitter to congratulate Maryam after a major legal victory for PML-N and vindication of their stand that the cases against their top leaders are baseless.
Inflation is increasing day by day and cases against imported government leaders are being dismissed daily. These are the main reasons.[s] For which Imran Khan was removed by conspiracy, Umar said in a tweet.
A two-member bench of Islamabad High Court comprising Justice Aamir Farooq and Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani heard his plea against the sentence.
The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) had accused him of implicating his father and former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in this crime.
On July 6, the accountability court sentenced former prime minister Nawaz Sharif to 10 years in prison with a fine of 8 million pounds, Maryam to 7 years in prison and a fine in the Avenfield reference. 2018.
