Karachi: Indian fast bowler Muhammad Siraj’s attempt to run out South African batsman David Miller in the second ODI proved costly.

In the 48th over of the match, Mohammad Siraj bowled Keshav Maharaj which he could not play and the ball went to the wicket keeper. The wicketkeeper gave the ball back to the fast bowler but he threw the ball towards the wicket to run out David Miller, who was standing outside the crease at the non-striker’s end.

The ball thrown by Mohammad Siraj did not hit the wicket but the ball crossed the boundary as a result of which the South African team got 4 runs. According to the laws of cricket, throwing the ball in an attempt to get a run out is considered an “over throw”.

Fast bowler Muhammad Siraj looked angry after the visiting team got 4 runs and started arguing with the umpire, but the umpire stuck to his decision.

It should be noted that in the second match of the series, India defeated South Africa by 7 wickets.
