
The fire that broke out suddenly in Centaurus Mall in Islamabad was brought under control with the timely efforts of the rescue teams. The case filed by the SHO of Margalla police station revealed that the mall was set on fire by unknown suspects.
According to Express News, as a result of the fire, no other shop was damaged except the restaurant in the food court, and no one was injured in the accident.
Rescue operation
IG Islamabad Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan along with senior police, administration officers and rescue teams were present at the spot while an alternative plan was issued to maintain the flow of traffic.
The rescue teams safely pulled out the people trapped in the shopping mall from the back side of F8, after which the teams also conducted a search operation inside the mall. Fire brigade rescue and helicopter were also called to extinguish the fire.
As soon as the fire was reported, the vehicles of the fire brigade reached the accident spot, while a team of Pakistan Navy and three fire tenders reached the spot.
After the fire, smoke rose from the third floor of Centaurus Mall and clouds of smoke were seen in the sky. Sources say that the incident of fire took place in the restaurant located on the third floor of Centaurus Mall.

A case of fire in Centaurus Mall was registered under Section 436 by HO Mateen Chaudhry at Margalla police station, which states that unknown persons set the shopping mall on fire for unknown reasons. Tower A was heavily engulfed in fire, rescue agencies were busy extinguishing the fire.

Deputy Commissioner Islamabad said that the fire has been completely brought under control, I would like to thank the organizations involved, the best effort was to evacuate the people, all the people were taken out of the building in time, due to which no one was injured. There was no loss of life.
He said that after the cooling process is completed, the experts will inspect the building and then the residents will be allowed to go to their homes only after the report comes. Go, the management team will be here cordoning off the mall, no activity will be possible until there is complete certainty.
Deputy Commissioner Irfan Memon said that a committee has been formed to find out the cause of the fire. The committee will also investigate whether the fire alarm was activated in the shopping mall or not. The inquiry committee is bound to check this too. As to what was the reaction of the administration at that time, the committee will also check the security system in the rest of the malls and buildings in Islamabad.
He added that until the security system of the mall is fully checked, the Suntours mall will remain closed.
A 6-member investigation committee has been formed regarding the shopping mall fire
On the instructions of the Deputy Commissioner, a 6-member investigation committee was formed to investigate the fire in Centaurus Shopping Mall, in which the Assistant Commissioner Industrial Area, Additional District Magistrate, District Emergency Officer, two directors of CDA, Additional Director of CDA are also included.
The investigation committee will complete the investigation in 3 days and submit its report to the Deputy Commissioner Islamabad and also make recommendations to avoid such incidents in future.
