Karachi / Islamabad: In the first quarter of the current financial year, the remittances of overseas Pakistanis recorded a decrease of 6.3 percent on annual basis.
According to the data released by the State Bank, from July to September, the volume of remittances of overseas Pakistanis for the fiscal year 2023 was recorded at 7.7 billion dollars, which is 6.3% less than the same period of the previous fiscal year. 2.4 billion dollars were received in the fund, which is 10.5% less compared to August and 12.3% less than September last year.
According to the State Bank, in September, remittances of $616.6 million were recorded from Saudi Arabia, $474.3 million from the United Arab Emirates, $307.8 million from the United Kingdom, and $268.1 million from the United States.
Meanwhile, Pakistan State Oil’s sales of petroleum products have recorded an 18 percent year-on-year decline during September.
According to industry data, PSO’s sales volume of petroleum products in the month of September was recorded at 806,000 million tonnes, which is 18% lower than the same period of the previous financial year.
